All you need to do to make the block is cut the shape on the 5″ squares using the tumbler template. That is how easy it is! No need to sew other pieces to it. The block has a trapezoidal shape, which is very edgy, but when you combine it in a row with the other blocks, alternating the colors and flipping them one after another, it will create this flowing illusion.

Stack four pieces of 5″ squares or the amount you are comfortable in, then place the template on top. Cut on the diagonal on both sides.
Separate the stacks. Place the light ones in one pile and the dark ones in another pile.
To make the sewing easier, sew the blocks in pairs first. Start with the dark block on the bottom and place a light block on top. They have to go in opposite directions. Lay them as close to the edge as you can get. Sew with a 1/4″ seam allowance on the side. Chain-piece them to make the process faster. Press each one open.
You will be sewing 14 rows with 12 blocks each. The first row should start with a dark block and the second one with a light block. Continue this pattern with the other rows. Cut the diagonal edge on both ends in a straight line using a regular ruler.
Sew all rows together. Add a border, binding, and quilt.
