What You Need to Soften a Dried Paint Brush

  • Murphy’s oil soap
  • plastic cup
  • 5-gallon bucket
  • lukewarm water
  • paint screen
  • nylon brush
  • paint brush combs
  • small brush
  • cardboard
  • elastic

How to Soften Hard Paintbrush

Step 1:

Pour the concentrated wood cleaner into the plastic cup. It should be enough to fully submerge the bristles.

Step 2:

Soak the brush and leave it overnight to let the wood cleaner do its job.

Step 3:

Fill the bucket with lukewarm water and hang the paint screen inside. Take your paintbrush and start running the paint comb. Once it loosens up a little bit, start brushing it with the nylon brush to brush the paint off. Do it in one direction.

Step 4:

Step 7:

Once it’s dry, take a piece of cardboard, then wrap it around the brush. Use a rubber band to keep it in place. It will keep the brush in great shape.
