Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease a 9 x 13 baking dish with a nonstick cooking spray. Set it aside. Next, cook the spaghetti according to its package direction. In the meantime, make the red sauce. Brown 1 lb ground Italian sausage in a large pan over medium-high heat. Next, add the diced yellow onion and diced bell peppers. Mix and cook until veggies are softened. Now, add one jar of pasta sauce, 1/4 pasta sauce jar filled with water, 1 tbsp butter, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp black pepper, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder, and 1 tsp Italian seasoning blend. Stir together, taste test, then turn it off. Set it aside.
Heat another pot over medium-high heat and melt 1/2 cup butter. Once melted, add 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour and whisk for a minute. Now, gradually whisk in 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and allow it to thicken. Next, stir in 1 cup of shredded parmesan cheese and turn the heat down to medium-low. Once combined, season with 1/2 tsp garlic powder, and salt and black pepper to taste. Turn off the heat. Pour the alfredo sauce directly into the pot where the cooked spaghetti is, toss it, then transfer the spaghetti alfredo to the prepared baking dish.
Spread it evenly and nicely, then pour over the red over. Sprinkle 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese on top and 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese. Place it in the preheated oven and bake for 20 minutes until the cheese is nicely melted on top. After baking, let it rest for five minutes, then serve.
