Whenever you get a cut, the best thing to do is clean the wound, apply ointment, and cover it with a band-aid. It may hold for a few minutes or hours, but if you put it on for a long time, it will eventually slip off your finger. Here’s the right way to put band-aids on your finger. I learned about this trick through Pam’s POV YouTube channel.

Placing a bandage on a small cut or wound will protect it from dirt, bacteria, and getting more injured. Just wrapping the band-aid around your finger can easily slip off. Try this technique instead. You will need a pair of scissors for this hack. This makes the band-aid stay firmly on your finger, and you will be able to use your fingers comfortably. If you often cut your finger due to the nature of your work, you might want to buy fingertip bandages instead. They are shaped like hourglasses and wrap around your whole fingertip.

Take your band-aid and cut in the middle on both ends. Do not cut the material that’s covering your wound, but all the way up to it. You should have slits just like in the photo below.
Peel the back off and put the band-aid on your finger. Start with either side. Fold the top one downward. Take the bottom from the other side and bring it up, then bring the top down. Lastly, take the bottom from the other side, and bring it up.
You are creating a figure 8. This will make the band-aid tight and secure.
