Ingredients:

  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 2 – 15 oz cans of yams
  • add liquid from one can
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Mix separately:

  • 1/2 cup self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • dash of salt

Directions:

Step 1

Melt half a stick of butter and pour it on a 9 x 9 casserole dish. Next, add two cans of yams over the melted butter, then add water to both cans and pour it into the casserole dish. After this, add 1 tsp of cinnamon, 1/4 tsp of nutmeg, 1 tsp of vanilla, and 1/2 cup brown sugar. Set it aside.

Step 2

Next, in a separate bowl, combine 1/2 cup self-rising flour, 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and a dash of salt. Whisk together, then pour it over the top of the cobbler nicely and evenly. Once done, place the cobbler in a 350 degrees F oven and bake it for 30 minutes or until the top is brown and bubbling. Serve with some vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. Enjoy!
