When I saw this tutorial I knew I had to have one of these. I have so many blankets taking up precious space in my linen closet and Armoire…nothing else will fit into either one of them. Do you have this problem?

We are very conscious about the amount of “stuff” we keep, and make an effort to clean out our closets every spring and fall, throwing out or donating clothes and decor that we have collected and no longer need. But despite that, we still have quite a few things we aren’t willing or ready to part with.

For me, a big part of that is home decor items, in particular throws and pillows. You’ve probably noticed that a new blanket or pillow will sneak it’s way into your home, and because of that, my collection has grown and they tend to take up a lot of space when we’re not using them.

So we decided to switch out the bench that was at the foot of our bed, and thought a DIY blanket storage chest would be perfect. I painted ours with chalk paint and distressed it, giving it a shabby chic look and I love it!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
