For the cake:
- 2 mashed bananas
- 1 cup and 2 tablespoons of plain flour
- 1/3 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup and 1 tablespoon of butter
- ½ cup and 2 tablespoons of sugar
- ¼ cup of plain yogurt
- Vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder
- 2/3 cup of chocolate chips and chopped nuts
For the toffee sauce:
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 6 tablespoons of brown sugar
- ¾ cup of heavy cream
How to Make Sticky Toffee Banana Cake
Step 1:
Make the cake. In a bowl, add the softened butter and sugar. Whisk for 2 to 3 minutes.
Step 2:
Add the mashed bananas, plain yogurt, egg, and vanilla extract, then whisk to combine for 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 3:
Sift the flour over the mixture, then add baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon powder. Slightly mix with a spatula, then mix with a handheld mixer for about 15 seconds.
