Now, I’ve done my fair share of stenciling (like on my pantry, toy box, and end table), but I’ve never stenciled over rolled cork and it was quite simple! I wasn’t sure how difficult it would be to stencil over the cork, but I trusted this tutorial.

I think this is one of my favorite pieces I’ve ever done! It’s so unique and I’m so excited about having it in my living room…it’s awesome!

I’m totally in love and excited with the look of this coffee table! All I did was put the adhesive on my old beat up coffee table and spread the rolled cork onto the top of it (after cutting it to size), then I laid the stencil on the table, secure with a piece of tape, and applied the paint with a stencil brush, dabbing it to make sure there wasn’t a lot of paint on it. That’s the secret to doing a good stencil transfer…always dab most of the paint off of your brush.

I’m so proud of my coffee table…it’s like new and it’s changed the whole look of the room! Repurposing a piece of furniture has that effect on a room, doesn’t it? Oh, and did I mention that you don’t need coasters on this table? Yep, you’ve got a built in coaster on the whole table top! Cool, huh?

As I was admiring my work I couldn’t stop looking at the legs. They just looked…blah. Boring and not fresh looking. They were ruining the awesomeness of the top.

I decided to paint them a nice white coat of paint and it made the top of the table pop!

Watch how Royal Design Studio Stencils repurposes this fabulous table in their step by step tutorial so you can make one too!
