Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup of canola oil
  • 4 tbsp of butter
  • 6 small russet potatoes, sliced 1/4″ thick
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • garlic powder
  • beef smoked sausage, sliced
  • white onion, sliced
  • 8 oz white mushrooms, quartered
  • shredded cheddar cheese

Directions:

Step 1

In your skillet, put 1/4 cup of canola oil and 4 tbsp of butter. Next, peel and slice up your six russet potatoes about 1/4″ thick. Once the butter melted, add the sliced potatoes. Season the potatoes with some salt and pepper to taste and some garlic powder. Mix it to combine the potatoes with the seasonings, then cook it for 10 minutes on both sides til the potatoes get brown. After this, transfer the potatoes to a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 2

Next, drain all the grease out of the skillet and add the sliced sausage, sliced white onion, and quartered mushrooms. Cook everything over medium heat and season with black pepper as well as a little bit of garlic powder. Mix it and cook until the sausage gets brown. Now, lay your potatoes in your casserole dish, then put some shredded cheddar cheese over them. After this, put the sausage mixture on top and spread it evenly, then dump the rest of the shredded cheddar cheese. Place it in the preheated oven at 400 degrees F and bake it for 15 minutes or until the cheese melted nicely.
