Do you love pot roast? If you do, try this slow cooker Georgia pot roast recipe from The Magical Slow Cooker. You might be wondering what the difference is between the two. A Georgia pot roast uses pickled onions, while a normal pot roast uses carrots and potatoes. The original recipe uses locally sourced Vidalia onions that you can only get from Georgia, hence the name. It is more similar to a Mississipi pot roast.

This dish is packed with tangy and sweet flavors. It’s super easy to prepare and only requires 5 ingredients. You will only need beef chuck roast, ranch seasoning mix, brown gravy mix, salted butter, and pickled red onion(the key ingredient). All you have to do is add all the ingredients in the crockpot and let it do its magic! Serve it over mashed potatoes or steamed rice.
Add the beef chuck roast to your slow cooker. Sprinkle the ranch seasoning mix, then pour the brown gravy mix over the beef.
Pour over the pickled onion, including the liquid.
Add 1/2 cup of salted butter on top of your meat.
Place the lid on your crockpot and cook it on low for 9 hours until tender.
Once the meat is tender, transfer the meat to a plate and shred it with two forks. If there are any fatty pieces, make sure to discard them. Alternatively, you can do this right in the slow cooker.
Add meat onto your plate, pour some sauce on top, and serve with your preferred side dish. Enjoy!
