Ingredients:

Cake mixture

  • 15.25 ounces yellow cake mix
  • ½ cup of salted butter, melted
  • 2 pieces or about 1 cup of bananas, mashed
  • ¾ cup of water
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • ½ cup of chopped walnuts, divided

Frosting

  • 8 ounces of cream cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup of 1 stick of salted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla
  • 1 tbsp of milk

Directions:

Step 1

Start by peeling off the skin of each banana then mash them well, and set them aside. Prepare a large mixing bowl, then add in the cake mix, mashed bananas, eggs, vanilla extract, water, and melted butter, whisk them all together until well combined, a few lumps would still be visible but it’s okay. Proceed to add about ¾ of the nutes, then give them a good stir. Grease the slow cooker with a non-stick cooking spray, then transfer the batter to the slow cooker, and spread them out until nice and even. Cover it with the lid, then let it cook on high setting for about 2.5 hours without opening the lid.

Step 2

Once done cooking, let the cake cool completely or put it in the fridge for faster cooling process. After the cake is completely cooled, you can start preparing the frosting. Using a stand or handheld mixer, beat together the cream cheese and butter until they are uniform and well combined. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk, then continue beating them together until smooth. Spread this frosting mixture on top of the cooled cake, then sprinkle the remaining nuts on top, you can also add a few slices of banana for garnish. Slice, serve, and enjoy!
