I love this quilt’s pretty and fun pattern; it has been my go-to quilt whenever I need a quick quilt for personalized gifts. This quilt may look complex, but it’s one of the easiest you’ll ever do–trust me. Learn how to make it by watching the video below for the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • 12 fat quarters
  • quilting rulers
  • rotary cutter
  • cutting mat
  • iron, for pressing
  • pins

Directions:

Step 1

Iron the fat quarters nice and flat before starting. Then, take four fat quarters, line up the selvages, then trim them into 17 1/2″ squares. Mark 4″ from the top left, then go to the bottom right and measure 4″ over. After this, line up your ruler at the line on the bottom and the top, then cut. Repeat these to all 12 fat quarters. Once you have them all cut, mix and match the pieces.

Step 2

Now, from the mix-and-match stash, take two fabrics, and put them right sides together; the top piece overhangs by 1/4″ and leave the bottom a 1/4″ gap. Pin them all the way down, then sew them with a 1/4″ seam. After sewing, press the seam nicely and flat, then press to one side. Trim the square down to 16 1/2″ afterwards. Repeat these steps until you have a total of 12 blocks, then put all the 12 blocks into a quilt, with three rows of four.
