Using your oven on a regular basis probably makes it a little grimy with all the grease, spills, and challenging stains. This is why it is important to clean them regularly to ensure they last longer. This hack by How To Do It All will use a few cheap household items that you probably already have on hand. Disclaimer: this DIY oven cleaner hack needs to sit overnight to deep clean the whole oven. So, make sure you do not need your oven for at least 8 to 10 hours after applying the cleaner.
Materials:
Directions:
Prepare all the necessary materials and your dirty oven.
Take the racks out of the oven. Make sure to check your oven manual to see if everything is dishwasher safe. Otherwise, hand wash them in warm soapy water and set them aside to dry.
Next, wipe out any loose food particles using the sponge. Then, mix 3 parts of baking soda and 1 part of water in a bowl. Mix until it turns into a pasty texture.
Using your sponge, apply the mixture to your oven. Make sure to focus on areas that look especially dirty. However, do not put the mixture directly on the heating elements.
Close the oven, let the mixture sit, and do its job overnight.
After 8 hours, wet a sponge with warm water and clean out the baking soda mixture. Occasionally rinse your sponge when it starts to become dirty.
For the leftover sponge, grab a spatula and scrape it off.
In the spray bottle, fill it up with 1 part vinegar and 1 part water. Spray the oven with the mixture and wipe it off with the sponge.
Viola! Insert the racks back into place, and you can start cooking again.
