Stack about four pieces of 10″ squares and place the wedge ruler with the belong side aligned to one edge. Cut it with a rotary cutter. Be careful at the point of the ruler, as you don’t want to go over it. Make it as exact as possible. Next, move the ruler to the other edge of the square – it should fit exactly to the remaining fabric. Once all lined up, cut it as well.
Time to assemble them. Get two matching triangles and form them into a big diamond. Next, add another triangle on the side and place a matching one on top to create another diamond. Keep laying them out, so you’ll constantly work on three rows. Make sure that you start and end with a white triangle in every row because those will make your border.
Start sewing them in rows first. You need 12 triangles across excluding the whites, then 7 rows down. When you’re laying the two triangles together before sewing, try to have a little bit of a quarter of an inch of your bottom one sticking out, and then a quarter of an inch of hangover on the other side.
Trim the white triangles, just a quarter of an inch away at the junction to make the straight edge. Sew the rows together and make sure you nest the points.
Once the triangles are done, sew a 2 1/2″ inner border, then a 6″ outer border.
