Materials:

  • one dark fabric
  • one light fabric
  • rotary cutter
  • cutting mat
  • ruler

Directions:

Step 1

For fabric A, cut the dark fabric into two 3″ squares and one 2 1/2″ square. For fabric B, cut the light fabric into two 3″ squares and four 2 1/2″ squares. Next, set aside the 2 1/2″ squares and make half-square triangles out of the 3″ squares. First, lay the light squares, right side down, then draw two lines, 1/4″ away from the center, from corner to corner. Line the fabric A and B, right sides together, then sew both lines. After this, cut the center, press them open, then trim them down.

Step 2

Now, start laying out the block. Lay down the dark 3″ fabric square in the center, then place the four fabric B squares on each side. Next, add the half-square triangles on all corners with the dark fabric facing inside. Sew the pieces to form rows, then sew those rows together to complete the block. Press the block nicely after sewing. Repeat these to create more blocks for your quilt top.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
