Card wallets are popular for men and women. They are simple and easy to pop in the back of your pocket. This sewing tutorial by Spencer Ogg is very nice because she includes a PDF card wallet pattern that makes this project easier. I love how useful and convenient this pattern is too. This is a great wallet to create especially if you have a lot of scrap pieces laying around. This doesn’t require big sheets of fabric or expensive materials. If you have a lot of credit cards, this is a perfect wallet tutorial to follow along with and create. It’s a great accessory to attach to your purse or backpack. Also, this comes in handy when you’re going out and want to only carry a few credit cards instead of a bulky wallet.

Materials:

  • 1 fat quarter of Outer fabric – Anything that doesn’t fray such as cork, leather, vinyl or oilcloth
  • All-Purpose thread to match outer or contrast.
  • Optional: 2 x Plastic snap fasteners

Directions:

First, here’s a link to the pattern pieces for the card wallet. Download and print out this paper to help and make the sewing process easier.

Next, stitch along the top edges of each card slot. Then, use your sharp tool to poke a hole using the pattern sheet. Insert the plastic snaps in the hole and it should snap right in.

Overall, I love this tutorial because it’s more simple than it looks. I have a lot of credit cards so this style of wallet is perfect. I like how minimalist, sleek and simple it is. Plus, it’s nice to attach onto the bag handles so it doesn’t get lost in my bag. I would love to make this because I can attach this to my luggage as a tag.
