Ingredients:

  • 1 large white onion, diced
  • 1 cup of celery, chopped
  • 4 cups of cooked rice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup of flour
  • milk
  • old bay seasoning
  • kosher salt
  • dashes of hot sauce
  • ground pepper
  • 1 & 1/2 lb shrimp, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 cup of crab meat
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese, shredded
  • chopped parsley

Directions:

Step 1

Grease your casserole dish with some spray oil, then add 4 cups of cooked rice. Spread it out evenly. In a pan, melt 2 tbsp butter, then add the diced onion and celery. Cook them until soft. Add 1/4 cup of flour half at a time while stirring. Let the flour cook for two minutes. After two minutes, add some milk and continue stirring it. Let it simmer for ten minutes. After simmering, season with old bay seasoning, kosher salt, dashes of hot sauce, and ground pepper.

Step 2

Add 1 & 1/2 lb of cleaned shrimp and 1 cup of crab meat. Mix them all together. (If it’s too thick, add some more milk.) After this, add the mixture over the rice. Spread evenly, then cover the top with 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese and chopped parsley. Bake it at 375 degrees F for 30 to 40 minutes.
