Instructions

Step 1:

Take two pieces of leftover strips and place them on top of each other right sides together. You can use the same fabric or not. Take your binding tool, place it on top, and cut it into diagonal and straight lines. Repeat with the other leftover pieces.

Step 2:

Set half of the strips aside – stack A. For the other half of the strips, sew 2 1/2″ black squares onto the back(straight edge) of each piece – stack B.

Step 3:

Get the big black square and one from stack A. Rotate the square so it will look like a diamond. Place the strip on one side. The angle will make the straight edge of your table runner. Put the right sides together and sew a quarter of an inch seam allowance.

Step 4:

Get from stack B and line the black square to the end of the first strip just like in the photo below.

Step 5:

Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you make 4 layers.

Step 6:

Take one of the black strips for the border. Sew with a quarter of an inch on the long side. Make sure the border is on top when sewing. Cut the excess strip, it should have the same angle as your table runner. Repeat for the other side.

Step 7:

Take the leftover pieces, and sew one the diagonal ends of the border. Cut excess.
