Ingredients:

  • 6 potatoes
  • corn flour
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp ginger, finely chopped
  • 2 green chilis, chopped
  • 1/2 red onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp chili sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • spring onion, white only
  • sesame seeds
  • oil for cooking

Directions:

Step 1

Wash the potatoes, peel off the skin, then cut them into strips. Once you’ve cut all of the potatoes, put them in a pot of salted water and boil them until they’re 90% done. After this, drain the water, and set them aside. When the potatoes are completely cooled off, sieve some corn flour over them, just enough to coat them, and mix well. Next, heat enough cooking oil in a large pot for deep frying. When it’s hot enough, gently drop the potatoes. Deep fry them for about three to five minutes, then set them aside.

Step 2

Next, make the sauce. In a large pan, heat 2 tsp of oil, then add 2 tsp of minced garlic and 2 tsp of finely chopped ginger. Saute them until fragrant, then add two chopped green chilis, 1/2 finely chopped red onion, and 1/2 cup of finely chopped bell pepper. Continue to saute for about two minutes. Season with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, and 1 tsp red chili powder. Mix well. After this, add 1/2 tsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp chili sauce, and 2 tbsp tomato ketchup. Stir them in, keeping the stove heat low; then add 1/4 cup of honey. Once everything is mixed, add the fried potatoes, and toss them well until coated nicely. To finish, garnish with some chopped spring onions and sesame seeds. Serve and enjoy!
