Casserole dishes are a staple in our home, especially during the Fall and Winter seasons, and this poppy seed chicken is a crowd favorite. I mean, who wouldn’t love this simple recipe? It’s super easy to make, perfect for a busy weeknight and only needs a few ingredients to make. Growing up, my mom frequently made this dish for us, so when I had my own family, I also made it a go-to recipe to warm the dinner table.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chicken, cooked and shredded
  • 8 oz sour cream
  • 1 can of cream of chicken
  • 1 bag of Ritz crackers, crushed
  • 4 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds
  • 1 tsp Auntie Nono everything seasoning
  • 1 tsp Kinders the blend seasoning

Directions:

Step 1

To start, pre-cooked your chicken and shred them to pieces (you can also use rotisserie chicken for this recipe). Next, transfer the shredded chicken to a large bowl followed by 8 oz sour cream and one can of cream of chicken. Season with 1 tsp Auntie Nono everything seasoning, 1 tsp Kinders the blend seasoning, and 1 tsp poppy seeds. Mix until well combined.

Step 2

Once done, transfer the chicken mixture to a casserole dish and spread them out nicely and evenly. Set aside. Next, crush one bag of Ritz crackers in a ziplock, then add 4 tbsp melted butter. Sprinkle this on top of the casserole. Now, place it in a 350 degrees F oven uncovered and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until it starts bubbling. Serve and enjoy!
