This macrame coaster is such a great addition to any living room or home decor. I love how the pentagon shape accents any other decorations within the home. The tutorial by GreysMade Macramé is so easy to follow and shows a very detailed process. If you know some simple macrame knots, you can complete this project in under 30-minutes.
Materials Needed For This DIY:
- Macrame Yarn
- Cork Board
- Pins
- Scissors
- Hot Glue
- Fabric Super Glue
Directions:
Step One
Pin down a strand of yarn to your corkboard piece. Make a loop in a separate piece of macrame and hook it around the straight piece of yarn. Use a slip knot loop to start the process.
Step Two
Continue looping the yarn for 12 rows, alternating the strands of ropes. This will make the first of five triangles in your pentagon.

Step Three
To start the next side, connect the loops by attaching the rope around the outside of the tails to the previous strands. Repeat the looping process for 12 rows.
Step Four
Repeat the process you followed in step two to make the next triangle. Continue this around the pentagon until you have made five sides.
Step Five
Finally, to connect the final edge, use super glue made for the fabric to attach, then hit them with hot glue as an extra layer of glue.
