I love quilting all year round, but especially love quilting around summertime. Nothing makes the holiday season more bright and homey than DIY decorative accessories made from patchwork remnants fashioned into incredible summer seasonal flair. When I found this awesome patchwork flower coaster video quilting tutorial by Minki Kim, on YouTube, I could not wait to try them!  I had some fabric jelly rolls I bought on sale at JoAnn’s Fabrics for next to nothing but didn’t quite know what I was going to do with them. I went searching on Youtube for a great quilting idea for the summer table. I found these beautiful flower patchwork coasters and could not wait to try them! I started by Then I just followed the simple instructions and made my basic diagonal shape. Here are the basic measurement instructions. I then partially unreeled my jelly roll and folded two rolls together and secured them with Wonder Clips.

Materials For The Patchwork Flower Coasters:

  • Fabric scraps
  • A sewing machine
  • Thread
  • Embroidery floss
  • A pair of scissors
