Nothing is easier than this delicious ambrosia salad. All you need to do is make the cream, toss all the ingredients together in a bowl, and it’s ready to refrigerate. You can use Cool Whip, but the taste is so much better when you use homemade whipped cream. You will never go back to using Cool Whip for this salad once you try this recipe. Make sure to add the sour cream as it adds a depth of flavor to your ambrosia salad.

Start by combining heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract in a large bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer. Beat the mixture using your stand mixer or an electric mixer until it becomes thick and has the consistency of Cool Whip.
Add the sour cream and stir it well.
In a separate bowl, add the oranges, cherries, pineapple, coconut, and mini marshmallows. Stir until well combined.
Add the whipped cream or sour cream mixture to the fruits and marshmallows and stir until well combined.
Cover the bowl with cling wrap and place in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least an hour before serving.
