Ingredients:

  • 1 cup (230g) lukewarm milk
  • 1/2 tbsp (4g) instant yeast
  • 3 tbsp (38g) caster sugar
  • 1 pc. egg
  • 1 tbsp (15g) cooking oil
  • 2 & 1/4 cup (350g) bread flour
  • 1/2 tsp (3g) salt

Directions:

Step 1

Combine 1 cup warm milk, 1/2 tbsp instant yeast, 3 tbsp caster sugar, 1 egg, and 1 tbsp cooking oil. Mix everything well. Next, add 2 & 1/4 cups of bread flour and 1/2 tsp salt. Continue mixing until dough consistency. Cover with plastic wrap and let it rise for about an hour. After an hour, the dough has fermented well. Stir the dough with a spatula first so that the air can be removed from the dough. Sprinkle a thick layer of dry flour on your working surface, then put the dough on top. Sprinkle some more flour over the dough to prevent it from sticking. Fold the dough by hand a few times to round it out, then turn it over. Divide it into nine even-sized parts.

Step 2

Take a divided dough, sprinkle some dry flour on top, then fold and round. Repeat this step on the remaining dough pieces. After this, cover them with plastic wrap and let them rest for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, repeat the previous step, sprinkling some dry flour over the top, then fold and round. (If you don’t mind the surface not being smooth, you can omit the second shaping.) Let the dough rise for about an hour by covering them with plastic wrap. After this, sprinkle a thin layer of flour on the surface. Place it in the preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 22 minutes, covering it with aluminum foil for the last eight minutes to prevent browning.
