I would have never imagined recycling my newspapers this way! It’s amazing what DIYers think up these days. What a genius way to repurpose that pile of newspapers you’ve got sitting out in your garage.
I couldn’t believe how easy it is to weave a basket using newspaper! It’s so simple to roll paper tubes out of newspaper and then weave the tubes into a basket. You can bet I will be making plenty of these faux wicker baskets for future projects, as well as for storage in the home.
I made up a few of these while I was watching my shows that I recorded. I always like having something to do while I’m sitting down watching TV. I’ve used these as gift baskets to put gifts inside of. It just makes gift giving a lot more interesting and fun.
You can spray paint these when you are done and they certainly look like they’ve been woven out of straw! Or after you are done with the weaving, decorate the basket with lace and bows and place some fresh flowers in it. Then you will have this beautiful home decor to enjoy!
