Who would have thought that a simple rope, which has been around for so many uses, can also be used for decorating your home! Rope can be used to bring nautical, modern and an outdoorsy touch in the house.

The nautical rope mirrors Pottery Barn featured this past summer were amazing and I liked how they had art displayed with rope and dock cleats.  I was inspired to try and get the same feeling in my space so this is what I came up with.

Mirrors aren’t difficult to come by, but framed out ones at the store aren’t exactly inexpensive either. They’re a dime a dozen at garage sales, thrift stores, or even unframed pieces from craft stores. Make your own frame with a bit of rustic nautical thrown in just a few simple steps.

Even if you don’t live near the coast, nautical decor is always in style. You don’t have to own an entire beach house decked out in the stuff, but a piece here and there is a great way to add a natural vibe to your decor.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
