This blew me away! I actually saw a guy making clothing out of organic items on Inside Edition today and that led me to search for information about how people are doing this.

She uses mushrooms to make a material that looks just like leather and is just as durable as leather. Can you believe it? I was so surprised that I had to look a little further into this and I found a few tutorials on how this is done.

People are always blown away by how much this feels like leather. That’s because it’s a skin, it was grown and it’s alive and organic.

This is very durable and holds up to industrial sewing and fabrication. And, their mechanic tests show that it out performs deer, lambs leather and synthetic leather.

It’s versatile and they’ve created an endless range colors and finishes and it’s engineerable so they can customize patterns, thickness, density and 3 dimensional features.  You can’t do this with animals. You also can’t grow an animal to produce any size and shape. They can do this with their technology.

There is a lot of information on the Internet and YouTube on how this process is done so if you’re really interested in doing this the information is available to all of us.

Listen to IndieBio in her video attached below.
