To Serve:
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F and grease a 9 x 13 casserole dish with butter. Set it aside. Next, lay five pieces of white bread at the bottom of the casserole, then spread 1 tbsp stone ground Dijon mustard on the bread. After this, lay 1/2 lb of thinly sliced deli ham over, sprinkle 6 oz of shredded Swiss and Gruyere cheese, then lay down four more pieces of white bread. Spread 1 tbsp strawberry jam on the bread, then lay the rest of the deli ham and another 3 oz shredded Swiss and Gruyere cheese. Finish the casserole with a final layer of white bread on top. Set it aside for a while while you make the egg mixture.

Crack six large eggs in a mixing bowl, then add 2/3 cup milk, 1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp ground black pepper, and 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg. Whisk all together well. Once done, sprinkle the rest of the shredded cheese, then pour the egg mixture all over the casserole. Place the casserole dish in the preheated 375 degrees F oven and bake it for 35 minutes or until the cheese is nice and melted.
