You no longer have to spend a lot of money on store-bought mini Christmas wreaths, because you can make your own using foam sheets through this tutorial! I’ve seen a lot of mini DIY wreaths all over the internet and have watched various tutorials, but nothing appealed to me like this craft by Foam Flower DIY from YouTube. It was so easy to follow and uses cheap material but the final output looked like it was professionally made. That alone is enough to convince me to try and make a few one for my Christmas tree, and oh my! believe me when I say that it looked incredibly adorable!

Materials:

  • 1mm Iranian foam sheet
  • 2mm Glitter foam sheet
  • Wire
  • Satin ribbon
  • Gold string
  • A pair of scissors
  • Glue gun
  • Glue sticks
  • Iron

Directions:

Step 1

Cut 2 strips of 40 x 2.5cm foam sheet, cut one side into small strips then wrap it around the wire with hot glue, continue attaching the second strip until you’ve reached the end. Cut the excess wire from the twig then roll it on iron to lightly burn the edges of strips. Bend the twig into a round wreath.

Step 2

Cut the different colored glitter foam into three sizes: 3.5 x 3.5cm (gold), 0.5 x 6.5cm (red) and 1.5×2.5cm (orange). Take the orange glittered foam and shape it like a teardrop, pinch one end then put some hot glue, this will become the fire of the candle. Heat the red glittered foam on the iron while stretching, then take the fire foam sheet and roll the golden glittered foam around it. Wrap the red strip on the candle and secure it with hot glue.

Step 3

Cut 3 pieces of 4 x 4cm red foam sheet, fold 1 piece into a square and cut into a petal. Open it and heat in the iron. Repeat this process on the other 2 red foam sheets, stack the 3 pieces together and insert a stamen in the middle. Make another pair. Cut a 2.5 x 12cm satin ribbon, then lightly burn the ends and fold it into a small bow. Assemble the pieces and use a golden string to attach a loop string on top of the wreath.
