I’ve seen mason jars attached to wood, but I hadn’t seen anyone do what this gal does in her tutorial and I think it’s really cute and clever! I actually saw one of these on Etsy for $40 when I was writing this post and it was pretty awesome looking. They did theirs on reclaimed wood and gave it a distressed look after painting the board. I certainly wouldn’t pay $40 for it when I have this great DIY tutorial!

This rustic mason jar sign is the perfect addition to any decor. You can customize the flowers to suite your style – you can mix some burlap mixed in while you’re at it. Make yours in completely different colors to fit with your decor.

I also saw something similar to this that was painted on canvas. The flowers were painted too, and it was cute, but I tend to like the 3D look of the faux flowers this gal uses in her tutorial.

All she did was print out a picture of a mason jar and went over the back of it with chalk, so she could trace the lines of the jar off onto her wood. After tracing it, she painted the jar. Then she let that dry and hot glued her flowers at the top of the jar. This is a really easy project, yet super cute!

Watch how Dana Brown does this in her step by step tutorial.
