Don’t have enough space to store your fabric stash or have no idea how to organize it? Here’s a wonderful idea from Mama_iza_Fan! Use cardboard to make mini bolts for your fabric stash. They allow you to roll and neatly organize fabric on your shelf. Plus, they also prevent wrinkles. It is the same way fabric stores store them. Prints and colors are easy to see and access.

You can use cardboard boxes from packages to make these mini bolts, but if you don’t have one, you can just buy them online or in craft stores. It’s super easy and quick to make them, and I think they are the best way to store your fabric stash.
Open it and lay it flat. Fold it in half, making sure everything is nice and square.
Take your 6-inch ruler and lay it on the middle of the cardboard in the same direction as the corrugations are going. Hold the ruler with your one hand, putting pressure on it, then bend the sides over using your other hand. Leave it like that or tape it to secure it. Repeat with the other cardboard.
Open your fabric and lay it flat. Fold it in half, making sure everything is nice and flat. Take your folded fabric and fold it again in half, bringing the selvage edge to the folded end. Now, it should measure 11″.
Take your mini bolt and place it on top of your folded fabric. Fold the end, lift the flap, then insert the fabric into the cardboard. Gently roll it toward the other end.
Pin the ends on the top and bottom to secure the fabric. Flip it and feel the pins if they did not go all the way through because you don’t want to hurt yourself.
