Got a small tear in your sofa? You don’t need a professional to fix it for you; all you need is this genius trick from Rub ‘n Restore, Inc. on Youtube. Who would have thought you could use simple crafting materials to restore a leather sofa? It’s so genius, right? I also shared it with my loved ones, and they’re all amazed, just like me. What are you waiting for? Watch the video tutorial below now to learn this incredible trick!

Materials:

  • a denim patch
  • scissors
  • tweezers
  • vinyl fabric and plastic glue
  • toothpick
  • board or book (to apply pressure)
  • super glue
  • sandpaper
  • Rub ‘n Restore

Directions:

Step 1

Cut a piece in the patch that is a little bit larger than the tear in your sofa, and round its edges. Insert it into the sofa tear using tweezers. If you feel some bumps, work on them and smooth them out. After this, glue it to secure it. (Do not use super glue in this process.) You can use a toothpick to help spread the glue on the patch. Wipe off any excess and piece the tear back together as much as you can.

Step 2

Once you piece them back together, grab a board or book and apply even pressure onto the patch to get a nice smooth surface. Hold it for a little while. Now, if you want a more aesthetic repair, put some super glue directly on the crack and use a toothpick to work it into the line. After this, wipe off any excess using a paper towel, then sand the whole thing down. Finally, add a thin layer of Rub ‘n Restore and let it dry completely.
