Kids can get so bored over the holidays, so I’m always on the lookout for fun craft ideas that are fun’ easy, and cheap to keep them occupied. I had such a moment when ur relatives arrived from England a couple of days ago, the kids were literally bouncing off the walls. I usually have some projects already researched and all materials in one basket ready to go at any given moment, but I was doing so much other prep work I completely forgot! So I grabbed my phone and scrolled through some Youtube saves I do keep handy, thankfully and found this super easy, super economical sock turkey idea, I only needed some old socks, rice, ribbon, pipe cleaners, googly eyes, feathers, and felt and they children would be occupied and happy. I laid out some newspaper and sat the kids in a circle giving them all a sock that would serve as the turkey’s body, we took turns using the funnel to fill the sock turkeys with rice.

Then I just instructed the children to tie the bodies in the form of a turkey and glue on the feathers, eyes, the feet, and the beak.

This is a great project to use old socks that have no mates. most of us have experienced the Burmuda Triangle laundry phenomenon, where you put 2 socks in the laundry but only one comes out! Lol, instead of trying to figure it out, see these lost socks as a golden craft opportunity. Every single sock is a new creation waiting to happen.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
