Shaving cream is whipped soap. Its foamy texture allows it to go down into the fibers of the cloth and remove stains that a regular liquid soap can not do. Apply a small amount of shaving cream to the stained part of the fabric and gently work it in. Let the foam sit for about 5 minutes before washing. This is best for oil-stained clothes.
Keep your bright-colored clothes from fading with this simple trick. Just add 1/2 cup of salt to your laundry. This works by binding with the dye in the fabric which prevents it from being washed out during the rinse cycle.
Vinegar can be a natural alternative to fabric softeners. It doesn’t leave any residue and can works just as well as commercial softeners do. There are also benefits when you use this product for your clothes. Vinegar is acidic and it helps break down laundry detergent. This will make rinsing your clothes easier especially if you are using hard water. The scent can’t be appealing, but you can mask the smell using a few drops of essential oil.
Get rid of static clink by stuffing a ping pong-sized wad of aluminum foil into the dryer. Its conductive properties help dissipate the static electricity that causes clothes to stick together.

White clothing tends to lose its brightness, especially around the armpit area. Bleach is a powerful stain remover but it can damage the fibers of your clothes. A gentler alternative is a mixture of baking soda and peroxide.
If you need to dry your clothes quickly, throw a clean dry one into your clothes. The towel will help pull the moisture out of your clothes.
Use a 50-50 mixture of water and vodka, to kill odor-causing bacteria. This leaves no scent itself once it evaporates.
When you don’t have time to iron your clothes, throw a few ice cubes in the dryer with them.
Soak the shrunken garment in a solution of water and a bit of hair conditioner to restore your clothes to their original size. But this won’t work if your garment has been washed several times or if it’s made with old or cheap materials.
It’s important to clean your washing machine every week and remove the buildup so your clothes will look and smell great.
