How to Paint Big Seashells
Seashell decorating might just be my new favorite hobby. This seashell decorating tutorial creates the perfect jewelry dish! I’ve made them for just about every room in my house now. Kitty Ideas created a simple way to dress up a seashell with very little materials. You could even do this DIY with just paint. Shells don’t cost much at your local craft store, or if you live near a beach, you can get them for free near the water, making this DIY even cheaper. These even work great as gifts for anyone in your life. I gave one to my sister as a graduation gift and she loves it!
Materials Needed For This DIY:
- White Paint
- Pattened Craft Paper
- Mod Podge
- Paint Brushes
- Colored Paint (any color)
- Clay
- Spray-On Clear Varnish

Directions:
Step One
Paint the entire shell white with your white paint.
Step Two
Attach your patterned craft paper to the shell using mod podge, then paint around the craft paper

Repeat this on the shell as desired.
Step Three
Create fun shapes with clay and attach them to the shell. Repeat this with however many patterns you choose. you can also paint the clay in different colors. You can create an antique edge look by painting with black, then going back in with gold accents.
