This knot Celtic quilt block is an interesting pattern I discovered from Patchwork Fácil‘s YouTube channel. It might look like it’s too difficult to make, but it’s actually not. The only hard part is assembling the units, which may confuse some people, but with the step-by-step instructions below, I am sure you’ll master it right away.

This block consists of two units – made from strips and squares. They have the same pattern but use different colors to create the illusion that they knot together. Making this quilt is absolutely fun. Add this to your list for your next sewing project.

Cut 2 pieces of 2.5″ squares from the red 2.5″ strips and 2 pieces of 2.5″ squares from the blue 2.5″ strips. Sew the red and blue squares together in pairs.
Get a 4.5″ strip background and a 2.5″ strip red fabric. Sew them together. Place the two pairs on top of the red strip and sew them together. Cut to make two units.
Sew the long sides of the units in a 2.5″ blue strip. Make sure the small background square is beside the blue strip. Cut the units. See the photo below for reference. Press the seams open and flatten the block.
Repeat steps 1 to 3, but this time exchange the colors. Use the red fabric for the long strip and the blue fabric for the L shape. The two units should look like the photo below. Press the seams open and flatten the block.
Arrange the units just like in the featured photo. For the center, cut a 2.5″ square from your background fabric. Sew the units together to make the block. Once done, press the block flat.
