Limes and lemons are something I like to buy in bulk but they don’t always stay fresh, so I really needed a bit of advice on how to keep my limes fresh for longer. Luckily I found this excellent video on Youtube by @ezy2learn because lemons and limes can dry up within a week or even faster if they’ve already been cut into and this excellent video shows a few simple, and I do mean very simple methods to keep your lemons and limes fresh and juicy for longer. There are really easy common household items like vinegar that act as a natural preservative for limed and lemons working from the outside skin of the lime going inward that will keep limes and lemons so fresh for your margaritas and lemonade.

Directions:

Take all your limes and rinse/ wash them then make a big vat of vinegar and water and soak all your limes and/ or lemons for at least 30 minutes then carefully take them out one by one and dry them gently with a small tea towel or washcloth.

Then you get a large zip lock freezer bag and add your limes or lemons and slowly close the bag when it is fairly full making sure all that all the air is out of the bag (as much air as you can get out without using a vacuum extracting air pump anyway and then close the bag and put it in the bottom drawer of your refrigerator.
