Most of us do have old jeans in our closets that we aren’t wearing and they are just hanging there, waiting to be given a new life. So, before you throw that old pair of jeans in the trash, take a look at this easy project that will turn your trash into a treasure! I’ve seen a lot of DIY projects lately that use old jeans, but not all of them are that great. A couple of them are, though and I have one of them I just had to share with you. This upcycled denim project is super cute, easy to make and just plain cool. If you are looking for a doable project idea to tackle this weekend, I highly recommend making this denim apron.

There are so many amazing things we can do with our old jeans that we haven’t parted with and this is an item you will use over and over again for many years to come.

Or, you can make these and put them up for sale on Etsy. I saw one on Etsy that is $40! These are so quick to make that you could make quite a profit…something to think about, for sure!

These cute aprons can be embellished with all kinds of cute trims, such as pom pom trim, buttons, ruffles or even embroidery them for a special gift for a friend. The sky’s the limit on adorning this apron.

This apron is perfect to wear in the kitchen, but the pockets are handy for keeping tools at your fingertips in the garden or art studio.  If you want to make a less feminine version, omit the ruffles and choose a solid or striped fabric for the ties and binding.

Watch how RealLife RealHome makes this easy apron in their step by step tutorial so you can do something with those jeans you were going to toss!
