Old yellowed pillows are pretty undesirable, any way you slice it, but there is a way you can bring your pillows back to their natural luster that only requires a few household products and a washing machine. When I found this excellent pillow cleaning video tutorial by One Good Thing By Jillee, on YouTube, I was more than ready to give this new cleaning method a try.
Materials To Wash And Whiten Yellow Pillows:
- Hottest water you can find
- A cup of dishwashing detergent
- A cup of regular laundry detergent
- A cup of bleach
- 1/2 cup of Borax laundry booster

You begin by filling the washing machine 1/3 of the way full with the absolute hottest water possible. You can even use a boiled kettle to help it along if you need to. Then, add your detergent ingredients and agitate for a few minutes, then you will submerge the pillows and agitate a little more.
Then you will let it soak and finish with a normal cycle.

This is an excellent method, I am so glad I found it! I really feel like the magic ingredient is the dishwasher soap because this mixture really lifts the awful stains.
