Are you tired of your jeans? Turn it into a maxi skirt with this tutorial from Cassie Olufemi on Youtube! This simple way of transforming your old jeans will definitely breathe new life into your wardrobe. Moreover, it’s pretty quick and easy; you can finish it in less than an hour. Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step-by-step instructions.
Remove the seams on the inside of the leg using a seam ripper as well as the front from the crotch area to just below the fly. Also, remove the seams from the back crotch all the way up to the butt area to the waist. Next, remove the belt loop in the back as well as the waistband just a few inches on each side. (Save the belt loops as you will be re-attaching them.) After this, take your scissors and cut the waistband right in the middle. Now, start laying the jeans over on top of each other, right sides together. Clip them to secure. Using a ruler and fabric marker, draw a line going all the way down, then stitch directly on this line.

After stitching, finish the seam inside however you like. Once you’re done with the seams, it’s time to re-attach the belt. Remove excess fabric from the waistband the same amount you remove from actual pants so the waistband will line up evenly. Re-attach the belt loops and do a straight stitch afterward. Now, it’s time for the front. Use the original front crotch, lay it over on top of the other side, and decide how you want it to fit.
