There are a lot of times when I forgot to take the butter out of the fridge to let it soften as required for a recipe I’m trying to make, and that is really frustrating. I was very surprised when I found out that you can soften butter in as fast as 1 minute without exposing it to too much heat that it melts. Simply grab a glass, then fill it with hot water, and let it sit for about a minute or until the glass is nice and warm. Place the butter on a small plate, then once the glass is ready, pour out the water, and quickly dry it. Next, place the glass upside down and over the butter to cover it, then let it sit for about a minute or two, and the butter is ready. This technique heats up the glass, then the trapped air inside is what helps gently soften the butter without completely melting it.
