Instructions:

Step 1:

Fold the jeans in half. From the top, measure 17″ and mark. Make a straight line and cut.

Step 2:

Take the bottom half. Cut a piece of paper measuring 4″ x 8 1/2″. This will be your pattern. Place it on the top edge and trace it two times. Cut the rectangles. Set one aside, then place fusible interfacing with the same size on the back of the other rectangle. Press with an iron. Fold it in half and press to make a crease. Open, fold the edges towards the center, and fold again. Sew on the side edges. Do the same on the other rectangle.

Step 3:

Take the 2 pieces of lining fabric and place them right sides together. Sew the sides with a 1/4″ seam allowance except for one side. Trace a 4″ square on two corners on the bottom just above the seams, then cut. Open the seam allowances.

Step 4:

Close the opening to make a boxed edge. Secure it with pins, then sew the edges. Do the same on the other side.

Step 5:

Measure 3/8″ from the edge and make a straight line along that mark. Do the same on the backside.  Then fold the 3/8″ part of the fabric inside and press using an iron. Flip it right side out.

Step 6:

Take the top part of the jeans. Cut on the cross point, on the inseams, the area just above the zipper, and on the side seams.

Step 7:

Take the front part of the jeans, then flatten the part on the bottom of the zipper and sew. Do the same on the back part. Cut the excess fabric.

Step 8:

Cut a 15″ x 19″ rectangle on a piece of paper. Use this as a template and trace it on the front part of the jeans. Cut the rectangle and sew the sides on the pocket.

Step 9:

Remove the labels from the back of the jeans. Trace the 15″ x 19″ template and cut.

Step 10:

Press fusible interfacing on the wrong side on the back of the jeans. Do the same on the front of the jeans.

Step 11:

Spray some glue on the polyester sheet and place the front jeans, right side up. Do the same on the back of the jeans. Place the back of the jeans on top of the front right sides together. Sew on the edges. Trace a 4″ square on two corners and cut. Sew the opening to make a box.

Step 12:

Flip it right side out. Sew the labels on the front.

Step 13:

Measure 1 1/2″ from the midpoint on each side and mark. Take the 2 strips, measure 3/8″ from the top edge, mark, and draw a line. Do the same on the bottom edge.

Step 14:

Sew the strips on the marks on the box for the handles.

Step 15:

Place the lining on the box and sew it right around with hand stitching.
