Tomato experiment
He started by dividing the green apples into four groups. He put three of the groups into a paper bag and the last one in a bowl. Then he added an apple to the first bag, and a banana to another bag. He did not add anything to the third bag. The bowl of tomatoes was just left on the counter. He added a banana and apple to two of the bags as these fruits produce ethylene that can help ripen fruit. To summarize, he has four groups: a bowl of tomatoes, tomatoes-banana in a bag, tomatoes-apple in a bag, and tomatoes in a bag. He left them for a week.
For the bag with just tomatoes, there were four fully ripe. For the bag with an apple, there are only two fully ripe tomatoes and for the bag with a banana, there was only one. In the bowl, there were nine fully ripe tomatoes, making it the best option.
