Materials Needed for Freezer Paper Printing:

  • Freezer paper
  • Fabric
  • Ruler
  • Marking pen or pencil
  • Fabric scissors
  • Iron
  • Computer and printer

How to Print on Fabric Using Freezer Paper:

Step 1

Start by cutting a piece of freezer paper to the size of a piece of printer paper, then iron the cotton fabric to smooth out any wrinkles. Next, iron the piece of freezer paper to the cotton fabric with its shiny side down until the paper is fused to the fabric. Using fabric scissors, cut along the edges of the piece of paper, then make sure to trim any stray strands from the edges, and iron the paper and fabric again to make sure it is well fused.

Step 2

Load the fabric and paper piece into the paper tray of your printer with the fabric side facing the direction of the printing, then prepare what you want to print on your computer, and set up your printer. Your printer needs to be set for the best printing option to get the most ink into the fabric, then iron the front and back, and peel off the paper. Note: Inkjet printing on fabric will fade when washed, this is best used for projects that do not require frequent washing.
