If you’re just starting out in painting, this beginner-friendly project from Designer Gemma77 on Youtube is perfect for you. Who would have thought that by using plastic wrap and sponge, you’ll be able to create a beautiful pink bouquet painting? It’s super easy, and everyone would be able to do this, painter or not. Painting used to be an intimidating process for me, but with this project, I’ll be able to create beautiful art while learning. Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • canvas
  • acrylic paint (white, pink, green, etc)
  • water
  • glue
  • sponge
  • scissors
  • rubber band
  • plastic wrap
  • dotting tool
  • paint scraper

Directions:

Step 1

To start, cut and shape a sponge into a circle. Next, tie a knot into the center of the plastic wrap, then place the sponge, centering it on the knot part of the plastic. Wrap it around and secure it with a rubber band. Now, put a small amount of white acrylic paint on your paint palette followed by pink. Gently blend them together using a paint scraper to achieve a gradient hue. After this, gently tap the sponge with plastic on the paint, then into the canvas, creating the first flower. Repeat this process until you are satisfied with the number of flowers on your canvas. (Add more acrylic paint as needed.) You can also add more colors to your flowers.

Step 2

Once you have your desired flowers, dot small circles to the center of each flower using white and violet acrylic paint, then connect them by adding several lines to the center. (You can use a dotting tool or a skewer for this step.) Finally, add stems to your flowers with green acrylic paint.
