I love mandalas of all kinds, I have heard that Tibetan Monks used to do them and they are an ancient practice of theirs, but whatever the origin of this gorgeous dot painted stones is, I know I love them and find them so relaxing to paint. I found this mandala painting technique using Q-tips and I was so excited because I had collected some stones the last time I was at the Pedernales River in the Texas Hill Country and I had left them in a bucket on my back porch for far too long and I was fully ready to give them a completely new purpose in life. I had gotten some really stunning brightly colored craft paint from Michael’s Craft Store a couple of months ago that was going to be perfect for the project. If you just do a quick search on your phone’s browser and pull up Michachael’s Coupons, there is always a discount and the cashier will simply scan your phone to give you some really huge savings.

Materials:

  • Craft paint
  • Q tips
  • A paintbrush
  • Stones (if you cannot find them in the wild you can buy them at Michael’s Craft Store)
  • A pencil (with an eraser)

Directions:

In the video, you will learn to paint your stone a solid color then start your first dot in the middle of your stone with a pencil eraser.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
