I love how mess-free an air fryer can cook things. Air Fryers use much less oil than a traditional deep fryer, making it a healthier way to cook your food most of the time. Lately, I’ve learned to cook all sorts of things in my air fryer, everything from chicken to bread and even cake. However, I started wondering if I could not also modify some of my favorite recipes and cook them in the air fryer, too. Fortunately, this video I found on YouTube shows exactly how one would go about doing that. Fabulously Frugal shared her methods for converting any recipe for an air fryer in this video, and if this doesn’t make you want to use an Air Fryer on a daily, I don’t know what will.
Cathy says you should “deduct 10% of the temperature and 20% of the time.”

Always preheat your air fryer at the highest temperature it can be, for about 5 minutes to make sure you get your food fully cooked.
Always use an instant-read thermometer and check the internal temperature of the food before eating.
Here are Cathy’s 3 Considerations for adapting recipes for your air fryer.
- Times and temperatures can vary from air fryer to air fryer, so make sure you accommodate for that when cooking.
- It’s always best to start low and then add time as needed.
- Do you need a little bit more crispness on your food? Crank the heat up right at the end and mist the food with a little oil.
