We recently moved into a brand new home and it is so awesome, really crispy and clean but I really needed something warm and atmospheric to really make it feel comforting and cozy. So while I was on decorating tangent hunting on the internet for new ideas for our brand new home, I came across this water candle idea. It was so perfect because I really don’t like the smell of wax but I wanted something to give off a fragrant smell, but not as strong as a toxic air freshener, so these water candles were perfect for my needs and I already had so many ideas as to how I was going to make each individual one. I started by gathering my materials together for this awesome project.
Materials:
- A Glass
- Water
- Oil
- Food Coloring
- Beads or other decor to put in the glass
Directions:
First, add your decorations to the bottom of the glass, this could really be anything from old jewelry to flowers, seriously whatever you want is fine.
Then add oil to glaze the top.
Then make a wick out of a round piece of plastic with a hole in the middle, then stick a cotton ball through it, so easy!
I just love these water candles and they really look nice in my new home.
