This beautiful project idea by Don’t Worry Be Crafty on YouTube teaches you how to make DIY flowers that look so lovely and perfect for any decor you could think of. What I also love about this project is how inexpensive this is to make especially if you live in an area where there are a lot of pinecones just laying around, if that is so, then all you’ll be needing to complete this project are some leftover paint and pruning shears!
Step 1
You can purchase a bunch of pinecones or walk around your house and try to look for a few pieces. If you got them fresh from outdoors, then you might want to bake them first at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes, and let them cool down before you start working on them. Once cooled down and you have prepped the rest of your materials, go ahead and start cutting the larger pinecones into smaller and shorter pieces. Some of the large upper parts of the pinecones are good as is and you can also use the very tiny pieces.

Step 2
After cutting them and you’re contented with their sizes, start trimming the leaves and core of each piece until they look more flower-like as shown in the video tutorial. Cut a few small pieces of painter’s tape, then place them on each core of the pinecone pieces until nicely covered, and then start spray painting them with whatever color you like. Let them dry completely, then peel off the tapes, and you’re done!
