There are tons of flower crafts out there, but the beautiful ones are often complicated to make. Not this felt rose. This flower project doesn’t require you to print patterns or cut different shapes and sizes. Which meant you can finish this in a few minutes. If you are a beginner, do not worry because the steps are straightforward and repetitive.

I have actually made this flower several times in the past. And if you’ve seen my other projects, you probably already know that I have used this cup or glass method several times. I tried toilet paper, denim, cupcake liners, and now felt. This method is the same as how you make salami roses on charcuterie boards–super easy and quick. How to Make Roses With A Paper Cup

Learn how to make roses with a paper cup with this step-by-step tutorial.

Trace 2.5″ diameter circles onto the felt paper. You will need 17 pieces.
Cut the circles. Reserve one circle for later.
Get your paper cup and place it upside down. Take one circle and fold it over the rim. Apply hot glue to the end, then place another circle on top. Repeat until the edge of the paper cup is fully covered.
For the next layers, fold the circles between the pieces of the first layer. Repeat the process with the remaining circles.
Apply hot glue in a circular pattern.
Take the reserved circle and place it on top.
Carefully remove the paper cup.
Now you have the flower.
Fold the cardstock in half. Cut the pipe cleaners for the stems and leaves, then glue them on the card. Finally, glue the flower in place.

Creative Ideas and Variations

Sizes. Make the flowers in different sizes. Just take note that the number of pieces you might need will change depending on the size of the cup and the size of the circles.
Color. You are free to choose any color you like to make the flowers.
Stem. Do you want to turn the felt flowers into a bouquet? Add a stem! You can just glue the sticks to the center of each flower.
Shapes. Add small curves to the circles to create a different flower.
Embellishments. Try adding glitter, sequins, beads, or lace to decorate the flowers.
